Texture Contemporary Ballet closes its 15th Anniversary Season with Eternal Beauty, featuring an evening of entirely new works that showcase the company’s evolving artistic voice.
Resident choreographer Madeline Kendall Schreiber presents a new neoclassical work, Architecture of the Soul, set to Dance, the five-movement cello concerto by contemporary composer Anna Clyne. The music’s emotional range drives the choreography, inviting reflection and a deep connection between sound and movement. Guest choreographer and former Texture resident dancer Alexandra Tiso presents Woman, a powerful work inspired by the resilience and strength of women. Beginning in a darker tone and evolving toward light, the piece explores perseverance, expectation, sensuality, and power, culminating in a celebration of the female spirit. The program is completed by Moment of Impact, a new contemporary work from Artistic Director Alan Obuzor, which highlights Texture’s commitment to sharing physically dynamic and emotionally complex dance. Texture Contemporary Ballet is a Pittsburgh-based dance company that fuses the power and precision of classical ballet with the freedom and creativity of contemporary dance to surprise and delight audiences and empower the next generation of dancers and choreographers. We were founded in 2011 by Alan Obuzor, and since then we have been creating and presenting predominantly new and original dance works for people who love to be inspired through dance. In our work, we enable our artists to take creative risks, and we help our audiences to experience their thoughts and emotions by forming connections through live movement and dance. |
